Police: Teen jumped by two others at Siesta Key Beach

Sarasota, Florida -- The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office has arrested two Sarasota teenagers for beating a third teen at Siesta Key Beach just after midnight on May 6.

Witnesses told deputies 18-year-old Devin Roman and a 15-year-old boy attacked 17-year-old Chance Prater after he tried to intervene when the two threatened to beat up his friend. 

According to reports, Roman and the 15-year-old punched Prater several times until he blacked out. Witnesses also said the 15-year-old ordered them not to help Prater.

Final suspect in home invasion robbery caught

Sarasota, Florida -- The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office has captured the final suspect in a violent home invasion robbery that occurred November 1, 2011 in Sarasota.

In the attack, the male victim was hit in the head and choked until he was nearly unconscious. Another suspect pulled the female victim to the floor by her hair and held a gun to her head. The three men ransacked the home and fled with the gun.

Teen attacked at beach pavilion, 3 young men sought

Sarasota, Florida -- The Sarasota Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help finding the young men involved in the attack of a teen at Siesta Key Beach early Monday morning.

Investigators say the attack occurred in the pavilion/picnic area around 12:45 a.m.

The teenage boy suffered serious injuries and was Bayflighted to Blake Regional Medical Center. His condition at this time is not known.

Sarasota, Florida -- Sarasota Police detectives are investigating a shooting that left two men in the hospital. 

Around 11:00 p.m. on April 22, in the 1900 block of 32nd Street, patrol officers heard gunshots. The officers found two men who had been shot. 

Other officers searched the area on foot, in vehicles and using K-9 officers but no suspect was located. 

The victims Quazone Taylor and Marquis Morgan were both taken to the hospital.

Warning: Trio impersonating officers pull couple over

Sarasota County, Florida -- The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office wants residents to be careful following a report that a group of individuals impersonated law enforcement officers in north Sarasota.

A Sarasota couple told sheriff's investigators they were pulled over early Saturday near 17th Street and Dodge Avenue by a black 4-door sedan, possibly a Dodge Charger or Chevrolet Impala, with chrome rims and a red and blue light bar in the windshield.

PICS: Man robs Sarasota CVS

Sarasota, Florida -- The Sarasota Police Department is asking for the public's help identifying the man seen in the photos above robbing a Sarasota CVS on April 14.

Authorities say around 7:35 a.m. at the CVS in the 3700 block of Tamiami Trail, a man handed an employee a demand note at the front register that implied he had a gun.

After the clerk gave the man the money, he left the store and was last seen getting on a bicycle heading northbound. Then a witness told police they saw him dump the bike and take off on foot.

Arrest made in Sarasota homicide

Sarasota, Florida -- A man has been arrested for the murder of a man whose body was discovered behind an apartment complex on March 14.

On April 3, Sarasota Sheriff's detectives arrested Kevin Peterson for the murder of Jovonne Corn. Corn's body was discovered in an open field on 19th Street and Gillespie Avenue.
