Sarasota, Florida -- Want to learn more about the county's plans to improve Siesta Beach Park?
You can find out more at a public meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 13. The presentation will take place at St. Michael the Archangel Church at 5394 Midnight Pass Road. The open-house style event runs from 5-7 p.m.
The event is hosted by Sarasota Public Works and Parks and Recreation and staff from the design and engineering firm will also be on hand to answer questions.
The Sarasota County Commission approved the Siesta Beach Park Preliminary Design Plan in September 2011 and the project has continued to evolve with input from both the commission and the public.
The goals of the project include improving parking and pedestrian access, expanding recreational opportunities, and rehabbing the historic pavilion built in the 1950's.
