Plane crashes off Lido Beach, pilot rescued | News
Lido Beach, Florida -- One person was rescued after a small plane that reportedly took off from Venice crashed into the waters off Lido Beach.
Sarasota Police are on scene now.
10 News photojournalist Tim Burquest is also on scene and says the plane sank about 100 yards off shore.
A life guard on a surf board swam out to the wreckage and was able to bring the pilot to shore. No other people were reportedly on board.
It appears the pilot was unharmed.
Sky 10 video shows the aircraft is a biplane. Authorities were able to tow it to shore.
