Buchanan holds Holmes Beach listening session

Sarasota, Florida -- Congressman Vern Buchanan will hold a listening session on jobs, spending and the economy in Holmes Beach.

The session will take place on May 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Holmes Beach City Hall chambers, 5801 Marina Drives.

Voters can track absentee ballots online

Sarasota, Florida -- Voters in the May 14, 2013 City of Sarasota Second (runoff) Election who choose to vote by mail (absentee) may track their ballots online from the time they request the ballot until the voted ballot safely reaches the Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections’ office.

Buchannan holds Englewood listening session

Sarasota, Florida --Congressman Vern Buchanan announced today that he will hold a listening session on jobs, spending and the economy in Englewood on April 20.

It will be an Englewood listentnig session at the Englewood Sports Complex Conference Room at 1300 South River Road.

Women business owners panel on jobs & the economy

Sarasota, Florida -- Congressman Vern Buchanan will host a women business owners panel on jobs and the economy this Friday, April 19th.

Over the past 16 years, the number of women-owned firms has grown 1½ times the national average, according to the 2013 State of Women-Owned Businesses Report. Nationally, Florida ranks as the fourth most populous state for women-owned businesses.

Sarasota, Florida -- Interest in the Sarasota 2013 municipal commissioners-at-large race is heating up already for the May run-off. The primary left Susan Chapman, Suzanne Atwell, and Richard Dorfman as the top vote-getters. Now they are in competition for the two open seats.

Sarasota Council Of Neighborhood Associations (CONA) has invited the three candidates surviving the March primary to a forum held as their regular meeting in April.
