Chick-fil-A, Children's Cancer Center collect "Fuel for Families"

Tampa, FL-- There are 38 Chick-fil-A restaurants in the Bay area, and each and every one of them are working alongside the Children's Cancer Center to provide "Fuel for Families" this November.

The “Fuel for Families” challenge will collect grocery and gas gift cards for families who struggle financially to get their children to critical medical visits, and to provide them with healthy meals while undergoing treatment, explains a release about the initiative.

Tickets for Forks & Corks Food & Wine Festival sell out in record time

Sarasota, Florida -- Just as fast as we posted the 2013 Forks & Corks Food & Wine Festival tickets were on sale...they sold out!

Sarasota-Manatee Originals says they sold 110 VIP tickets in under an hour and 1,250 general admission tickets in three hours and 50 minutes.

Bacchus on the Beach this Saturday

Longboat Key, Florida -- Stone crab, wine and a beach setting combine for a luscious fundraiser this Saturday. The Longboat Key Club & Resort is hosting Bacchus on the Beach to benefit the LBK Center for the Arts and the Child Protection Center.

This is the third year for the event, which features winemakers from across the country, resort chefs showcasing stone crab, and a charity auction.

It runs from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10.

Student-staffed Bistro 502 at SCTI to reopen for lunch

Sarasota, Florida -- Bistro 502, a restaurant staffed by high school and adult students in the Commercial Foods and Culinary Arts Program at the Sarasota County Technical Institute, will open its doors to the public for the 2012-13 school year at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 18.

The facility will serve lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesdays through Thursdays throughout the school year, with some exceptions. Bistro 502 is located on the SCTI campus at 4748 Beneva Road.
